Veterinary Informatics and Epidemiology

Veterinary Informatics and Epidemiology (VIE) is a research group organised jointly by the University of Strathclyde and the University of Glasgow. The working association of researchers in animal disease and modelling at the two establishments extends over two decades and this partnership was formally recognised in 1992.

For full information please go to the 'official' VIE home page. These pages outline a range of projects carried out within VIE which have had substantive involvement from the Department of Information Science. In many cases these projects have resulted in Web-based and other software resources which can be accessed through this page - these projects include:

  • CaDDiS (Cattle Disease Diagnosis System)
  • TrypsChemo (Chemotherapeutic expert system of Trypanosomiasis)
  • EUCALB (EU Concerted Action on Lyme Borreliosis)
  • ICPTV (Integrated Control of Pathogenic Trypanosomes and their Vectors)
  • InvestKnow (Under Construction)
