CaDDiSThe Cattle Disease Diagnosis System (CaDDiS) was developed as part of a DFID funded programme to develop generic decision support systems to improve control of livestock diseases in developing countries. Use the link below to start a consultation or read more about the project below before exploring the system. The system uses a Bayesian Belief Network approach to evaluates the relative likelihood of a cow having different diseases given that particular clinical signs have been observed. The experts opinions of 41 veterinary experts in the field have been codified into the system which is currently being evaluated in its Windows-based format. (We hope that an updated version will soon be made available for down-load.) Supported by funding from the Veterinary Informatics and Epidemiology group, Web-based versions of CaDDiS were produced. These are very much prototype demonstrations and do not incorporate all the features of the full CaDDiS system. However, they have the advantage of being available on the Web and we would very much appreciate any feedback from experts (veterinary or otherwise) on the system. An earlier (and simpler) version of CaDDiS on-line is also available. This may be used if your browser is unable to run the full version, though it only allows 'positive' evidence to be entered into the system. These pages are maintained by Crawford Revie |
